AFC North Rumors: Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Bengals

  • ESPN’s Dan Graziano lists Bengals QB Andy Dalton as a potential veteran who could be traded during the draft.

Browns

Ravens

The Ravens have never been shy about moving around in the draft but typically Baltimore prefers to move down instead of up. However, the circumstances this year might point towards a trade up by the Ravens. There are a few distinct holes on the roster like inside linebacker and interior offensive line despite coming off a 14-2 season, and the Ravens do have the draft capital to make a move. Whether it works out that way remains to be seen.

“This year, we do have a lot of [picks]. We have the opportunity to maybe go up and get a guy,” Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “Normally, when a guy starts to fall, what you find is other teams are trying to trade for him, too, and they’re usually willing to give up more than you’re willing to give up. We just assess case by case and see what we can do.”

“… The draft in and of itself, there’s definitely a luck component,” DeCosta said. “From that standpoint, you’re always better off having more picks than less picks. If you trade up, you give up picks. So you better get a guy that’s going to be a difference-maker if you trade up.”

Steelers

  • Gerry Dulac reports that there’s no truth to the talk of Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster potentially being made available in a trade with the 49ers.
  • The Athletic’s Ed Bouchette writes that the Steelers are likely to consider either a running back, receiver or even an edge rusher with their first pick at No. 49 overall in the second round.
