AFC Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens

Bengals

  • Bengals HC Zac Taylor said it doesn’t feel as if QB Joe Burrow is a rookie: “He’s in command. Guys believe in him…. He’s becoming a real leader on this football team.” (Ben Baby)
  • Bengals RB Joe Mixon explained what happened with the chest injury he suffered in recent days: “I don’t know. I think I slept wrong.” Said it hurt to run during walkthroughs, went to the hospital last night, didn’t know if he’d play.” (Ben Baby)
  • Mixon did say that the doctors told him everything was fine with his chest. (Baby)

Browns

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Browns are cautiously optimistic that RB Nick Chubb didn’t suffer a torn ACL. However, Florio adds that there’s nothing definitive regarding Chubb’s situation until he undergoes an MRI on Monday.
  • Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said WR KhaDarel Hodge strained hamstring in pregame warm-ups and DT Larry Ogunjobi suffered an oblique injury. (Nate Ulrich)

Ravens

  • According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Ravens and LT Ronnie Stanley have discussed a variety of deals, including short-term ones, but have been unable to agree on his market which is huge. Stanley appears to be headed for a franchise tag in 2021.
  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that Stanley’s shoulder injury is more of a strain: “We actually thought he would be able to go, but those things are dicey sometimes. He just wasn’t able to do it, and he tried. So, hopefully he’ll be back for next week. We’ll see.” (Jamison Hensley)
  • Harbaugh was happy with how Orlando Brown Jr. and D.J. Fluker played. Fluker practiced most of the week at left tackle, but they opted to go with Brown for Sunday’s game. (Jeff Zrebiec)
