AFC Notes: Broncos, Chiefs, Colts

Broncos

  • According to the Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala, the Broncos do not have a top-30 visit scheduled with Alabama DT Quinnen Williams and were the only team in the top-13 not to speak formally with him at the Combine.

Chiefs

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters that he wouldn’t rule out GM Brett Veach making some more moves in free agency.

“You know Brett, he keeps his eyes open on everything and he’s very aggressive,” Reid said, via the Kansas City Star. “I wouldn’t doubt it. I don’t know who it is, but I wouldn’t put it past him.”

Colts

While former Colts DE Robert Mathis is no longer officially an assistant with the team, he’s still working with a number of their players as an independent consultant with his own sports performance facility.

“The Colts have done a great job supporting me,” Mathis said via Mike Wells“I’m still a partner with them. I’m just not a coach with the team anymore. They know my heart is in a good place. They know I have good intentions and that I want the best for them. This is one of the ways I feel like I can help them. It’s a win-win because I still get to do what I’m passionate about in teaching while helping guys on the team I spent my entire career with. Everything is legal. There’s no gray area. I’m ecstatic about it and so are the Colts.”
