AFC Notes: Colts, Texans, Titans

     

Colts

  • Per 1075TheFan.com’s Kevin Bowen, Colts second-round RB Jonathan Taylor is on the injury report after taking 30 carries this past week, but says he’s ready to go: “We are definitely ready to roll this Saturday.”
  • Colts signed WR Gary Jennings and RB Benny LeMay to futures contracts. (NFLTR)

Texans

  • NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reports the Texans’ search firm, Korn Ferry, identified GM candidates Matt Bazirgan, Trent Kirchner, Omar Khan, Louis Riddick and, Scott Cohen as their final list. However, Houston’s new GM Nick Caserio was not among those who Korn Ferry recommended. 
  • Garafolo also reports that Texans’ owner Cal McNair told candidates he would allow them to decide on executive Jack Easterby’s role with the organization going forward. In the end, Garafolo expects Caserio to retain Easterby. 
  • Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer says folks with connections to the Patriots believe Caserio will be interested in Bill OC Brian Daboll, who worked with him in New England. 
  • NBC Sports’ Tom Curran said his read is that Patriots OC Josh McDaniels won’t be a candidate for the Texans head coaching vacancy despite Houston hiring Caserio. 
  • The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain confirms McDaniels will not be a candidate for the Texans. (Ben Volin)

Titans

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter says a Titans trainer tested positive for COVID-19 but the team facility remains open while contact tracing is conducted. 
  • Titans signed WR Marcus Johnson to their practice squad. (NFLTR)
  • Titans released WR Rashard Davis from their practice squad. 
  • Titans activated OLB Tuzar Skipper from the injured list.
