AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders

Broncos

Broncos QB Joe Flacco took issue with the team’s lack of aggression during Sunday’s loss to the Colts.

We’re a 2-6 football team and it just feels like we’re kind of afraid to lose the game,” Flacco said, via Ryan Koenigsberg of THEDNVR.com. “It’s third-and-five at the end of the game. Who cares if they have a timeout there at the end or not? Getting in field goal range isn’t that tough. You’re just putting your defense in these bad situations and I just felt like, ‘What do we have to lose, why can’t we be aggressive be aggressive in some of these situations?’ That’s kind of how I feel about a lot of the game today.

Chargers

  • Per ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Chargers OT Russell Okung will make $1.7 million this week and $ 1 million each week for the rest of the season.

Chiefs

  • Jay Glazer reports that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes will try to push to play as early as next week after taking reps on the scout team this week and moving great.
  • According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Chiefs DE Frank Clark is week-to-week with a neck injury that’s keeping him out this week and potentially longer.
  • Clark had been playing with the injury this season so the hope is some rest will allow it to heal.

Raiders

  • Jay Glazer reports that the Raiders are among the teams looking to add a receiver in before the trade deadline.
