Bears Waive DL Marquis Jackson, Sign OL Garry Williams

The Chicago Bears announced that they’ve signed OL Garry Williams to a contract and waived DL Marquis Jackson.

  • The Bears also signed LB Danny Mason and waived OL Adrian Bellard with an injury settlement.

Jackson, 26, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2013. He lasted just a few months with the Vikings before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season.

The Bears signed Jackson to a contract back in June.

Jackson is known for being the brother of Jaguars DL Malik Jackson.

Jackson has spent the past two seasons in the Arena football league playing for the Portland Thunder. During this time, Jackson has recorded 23.5 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.
