The Miami Dolphins officially waived RB Kalen Ballage from their injured reserve with a settlement.
Ballage was recently traded to the Jets, but he reverted back to Miami after failing his physical for New York.
Ballage, 24, is a former fourth-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $3 million rookie contract.
Miami had initially planned to release Ballage but the Jets swooped in with an offer before he could be placed on waivers. New York agreed to send a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick to Miami in exchange for Ballage.
In 2019, Ballage appeared in 12 games and recorded 74 rushing attempts for 135 yards (1.8 YPC) and three touchdowns to go along with 14 receptions for 63 yards receiving (4.5 YPC).
