Giants Waive OT Ereck Flowers

The New York Giants officially announced that they’ve waived former first-round OTĀ Ereck Flowers on Tuesday.

The Giants’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. CB Grant Haley
  2. OLB Avery Moss
  3. WR Alonzo Russell
  4. RB Jhurell Pressley
  5. OT Victor Salako
  6. LB Ukeme Eligwe
  7. RBĀ Robert Martin
  8. OT Jylan Ware
  9. WR Quadree Henderson
  10. K Marshall Koehn

A report surfaced Monday that the Giants were planning to release Flowers unless a trade surfaced for him before 4pm EST on Tuesday. However, it looks like interestedĀ teams preferred to wait for him to be released before pursuing him.

Flowers, 24, is a former No. 9 overall pick out of Miami by the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is the final year of a four-year $14.391 million rookie contract that is fully guaranteed is set to earn a base salary of $2,397,522 for 2018.

The Giants declined to pick up Flowers’ fifth-year option back in May.

In 2018, Flowers has appeared in two games for the Giants.
