Latest Regarding Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr

Former NFL GM Michael Lombardi says he spoke to a team that is convinced the Giants will trade WR Odell Beckham Jr if they get the right offer for him.

According to Lombardi, Beckham has a “very short list” of places he wants to go.

Last year, there was speculation that the Rams, 49ers and Patriots could be potential landing spots for Beckham and there has been a lot of buzz about the Browns having interest in him.

Other teams could, of course, be involved if the Giants really want to make Beckham available for trade.

However, Mike Garafolo reported Monday that the trade buzz involving Beckham is “more of the same“, which is the Giants will listen to anything and never say never, but there’s “nothing remotely close to happening right now.

Adam Schefter said on “NFL Live” that he doesn’t think the Giants are “looking to deal” Odell Beckham, but they are listening to offers.

“They don’t seem inclined to move him, but we’ll see if that changes as the draft approaches,” Schefter said, per Evan Silva

Beckham, 26, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $10,406,198 contract before the Giants picked up his fifth-year option in 2017.

Beckham was set to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new five-year extension worth up to $95 million and includes $65 million in total guarantees. He stands to make base salaries of $16.75 million and $14 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Beckham appeared in 12 games for the Giants and recorded 77 receptions for 1,052 yards receiving (13.7 YPC) and six touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Beckham as the news is available.

  1. WOW! What a free agent movement over the last couple of days. And the GMEN did nothing to better the franchise. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! GM Dave Gettleman does NOT have a clue on what is going on, or have an inkling on how to right this GMEN ship. What free agents are left to help the defense? Robert Quinn, Justin Houston and Nick Perry are all past their worth even at the ages of 28-30.

Gettleman is crying that he only has $24.7M in cap space for 2019. Yet! Gettleman will NOT cut Elisha Manning to add another $23.2M to the team piggy bank.

Every day the Saquon Barkley pick is PROVING to be a HUGE mistake. The domino effect is in full motion for the GMEN. And lots of youthful years and talent are going to be wasted for years to come. Because! The GMEN Owners, GM and Head Coach are NOT on the same page on how to run the GMEN Organization.

The offensive line is still a mess. Nate Solder, Will Hernandez and Jon Halapio need to go. All three are being OVERHYPED by the GMEN Brass and The Media. Couple that with the WORST NFL offensive line coach in Hal Hunter, nothing good is coming from this marriage.

On defense the GMEN have NO secondary at all now. Does anyone really think the 2019 NFL Draft is going to remedy this problem? The GMEN defense get to face their ‘ole nemesis in DeSean Jackson in Philly, twice a year for the next 3 years. The GMEN have Zeke Elliott and Amari Cooper twice a year. The ‘Skins are getting Derrius Guice back and they are always a handful for the GMEN.

You have the GM Dave Gettleman ranting about “Hog Mollies”. And Gettleman goes and trades one of the NFLs best DT in Snacks Harrison for a 5th rounder in 2019. I really do NOT get this guy. Besides our division being tough outs each week. What about the Saints, Bears and Rams. the Packers just made themselves contenders by signing 3 defensive players that the GMEN supposedly wanted. The Seahawks are another playoff team and this is just the NFC.

The Media keeps bringing Odell Beckham Jr. up in trade rumors. After the Antonio Brown trade and the fleecing the Steelers got by the Raiders. OBJ and ALL HIS DRAMA is here for 2019. Other teams know they can low ball the GMEN in any trade talks and the GMEN CANNOT do anything about it.

Do NOT be surprised if Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram are traded for draft capital instead. Remember both Shepard and Engram are Jerry Reese picks.

The Maras and Tisch need to wake up already. Gettleman and Shurmur are leading the GMEN nowhere fast. You need to move on from both of them and start a complete rebuild. Get a new GM (Elliot Wolf) and a proven veteran but not old head coach (Mike McCarthy). Make everyone on the roster trade bait and that includes Saquon Barkley. And the first move should be releasing Elisha Manning.

We the GMEN FANS are constantly being fed LIES about a rebuild on the fly. Anyone with a half-a-brain knows rebuilds are NOT done on the fly. But! The GMEN Brass will lead you to believe that is what is happening. Just like Barkley is a once in a lifetime talent. Well! Look at Zeke Elliott (2,000 yds plus from scrimmage in ’18) he is the same exact player as Barkley in height, weight and on field talent. Other, then Elliott breaking personal and team records. the Cowboys are NOT winning any Super Bowls anytime soon. And neither are the GMEN. With things are the way they are right now and the forseeable future. The GMEN are light years away from winning their division, let alone a Super Bowl.
