Giants

Landon Collins mentioned that the Giants’ problems with WR Odell Beckham started right away.

“Was I shocked with Odell?” Collins told Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com. “No, honestly, not. They felt like he was a problem the whole time. Ever since Odell stepped into the league with them, they felt like he was a problem, I felt like from the outside.”

Redskins

Redskins S Landon Collins said he thought he was going to finish his career with the Giants, but they never even made him an offer.

“I’m starting a new chapter and I’m on a good team,” Collins said via Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com. “When I left the Giants, I was kind of heartbroken. I loved the Giants. When I started there, I wanted to finish there. I wanted to be one of those guys to finish his career on one team. They didn’t give me the opportunity to do that. It’s a business. I can’t do anything about that.”

Collins said he feels like criticisms of his ability in pass coverage are largely overstated.

“They feel like every tight end who catches a ball is my fault,” Collins said via the Athletic’s Dan Duggan. “Hey, if I’ve got to take on that responsibility, I’ll take on that responsibility. If you look at the film and you know how to watch film and you know football, I am all over the field. I’m tackling the tight end because I’m picking up somebody. I’m making up for somebody else’s mistake. From that standpoint, if you know football, you know football, if you don’t, you don’t. It shows that fact when people try to get on me about tight ends catching 100 yards when no tight end has over 40 yards on me.”
