Falcons

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that while Falcons WR Julio Jones plans to skip voluntary workouts and is reportedly looking for a contract adjustment, he could have a tough time convincing Atlanta to tear up his current deal that runs through the 2020 season.
  • Florio mentions that Jones may have to take a real stand and make it clear he won’t show up unless he’s going to be paid a market value salary.
  • As of now, Jones is scheduled to make an average salary of $14.25 million and is the No. 8 highest-paid receiver.

Giants

New Giants LB Alec Ogletree tells Steve Serby of the New York Post that his goal for his first year in New York is to lead the NFL in tackles.

“Definitely to lead the league in tackles,” Ogletree said. “Hopefully, get around like four, five sacks. … I would like to get at least three or four interceptions.

“Tackling is what I’ve been doing my whole life, basically tackling folks (laugh). … Granted, the NFL doesn’t give you all the tackles that you get most of the time, they may give it to somebody else — but I’m gonna definitely make a point of making sure that they know it’s my tackle for sure.
