NFC West Notes: Cardinals, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks

Cardinals

According to GM Steve Keim, there are a number of players the Cardinals feel are deserving of the No. 1 overall pick.

“We are not done with this process. We have not made a decision on the first overall pick,” Keim said via Tom Pelissero.

  • Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury says the way QB Josh Rosen has handled all the draft chatter has been “phenomenal.” (Josh Weinfuss)
  • Keim praised Rosen as well: “The one thing I’ve appreciated the most since we’ve drafted him, the kid has an unbelievable amount of mental toughness. You saw that last year as he took a beating… Physical toughness, mental toughness, Josh Rosen has it all.” (Omar Ruiz)
  • Keim says Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray was not accompanied by his agent on his visit to the Cardinals last week. (Weinfuss)
  • Keim added the team has received some trade interest in the No. 1 overall pick, which has been exciting: “I like to do deals…(but) at the same time, I like good players.” (Darren Urban)
  • Miami DL Gerald Willis visited the Cardinals Tuesday. (Ian Rapoport)
  • The Cardinals hosted Mississippi State DT Jeffery Simmons for a visit on Monday. (Pelissero)
  • Arizona also hosted Oregon DB Ugo Amadi for a visit Tuesday. 

49ers

Rams

  • Alabama State OT Tytus Howard visited the Rams Tuesday. (Josh Norris)
  • Rams waived OT Kyle Murphy with a non-football injury designation. (NFLTR)

Seahawks

  • According to Tom Pelissero, the cash flow in Seahawks QB Russell Wilson‘s new deal includes $70 million the first year fully guaranteed and $88 million and $107 million guaranteed for injury through the second and third year. 
  • Washington S Taylor Rapp recently visited the Seahawks. (Ian Rapoport)
