NFL Notes: Cardinals, Chargers, Lions, Ravens, Texans

Cardinals

  • HC Bruce Arians admitted that he probably should not have announced Logan Thomas as the team’s Week 17 starter earlier in the week. (Darren Urban)
  • Arians mentioned that he did not like how Thomas practiced on Wednesday, which is why they’ll go with Ryan Lindley in Week 17. (Kent Somers)
  • Interestingly enough, Arians said that he expects Drew Stanton to be back next week, despite the fact that he underwent surgery to clear an infection. (Kent Somers)

Chargers

  • Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 17.
  • Chargers WR Keenan Allen (collarbone) is listed as doubtful for Week 17.

Lions

  • The Lions have ruled out DT Nick Fairley for Week 17’s game against the Packers.

Ravens

  • Ravens LT Eugene Monroe (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 17’s game against the Browns.

Texans

  • WR Andre Johnson said that he has not discussed offering the Texans a pay cut, despite a recent report that said he was open to the idea.

“I don’t know where that story came from,” Johnson said, per Tania Ganguli. “I didn’t make that statement.”
