Chargers “Interested” In UCLA Coach Jim Mora?

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune tweeted last night that the Chargers have “interest” in UCLA coach Jim Mora as a candidate for the head coach position.

Mora finished this season with the Bruins, who finished 17th in the BCS rankings, securing the conference division title with a 9-4 record before ultimately losing in the Holiday Bowl to Baylor.

Mora’s last stint in the NFL was as the head coach of the Seahawks, but was fired after only one season in which the team finished 5-11.

If Mora were to be hired by the Chargers, he could look to bring in Noel Mazzone to run the team’s offense. It’s worth noting that Mazzone was QB Philip Rivers offensive coordinator at NC State.

Mora could also keep John Pagano as the team’s defensive coordinator since the defense unit was able to show some potential under his direction.
