Steelers Sign LB Tuzar Skipper Off Giants’ PS, Place DL L.T. Walton On IR

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Tuzar Skipper off the Giants’ practice squad and placed DL L.T. Walton on injured reserve.

Skipper, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Toledo back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Steelers and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.

However, Pittsburgh waived Skipper coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Giants. New York added him to their practice squad in October.

In 2019, Skipper has appeared in six games for the Giants and recorded three tackles, a half sack and a fumble recovery.

During his college career at Toledo, Skipper recorded 90 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and a defensive touchdown over the course of three seasons and 24 games.
