AFC Notes: Browns, Jaguars, Ravens

Browns

  • Browns DE Myles Garrett said after Sunday’s game that his knee injury was painful, but not related to the ankle injury that limited him during the week. According to Garrett, the issue happened early and got worse during the game. (Scott Petrak)
  • Garrett is scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday morning to determine the severity of the issue.
  • CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora says the Packers briefly inquired with the Browns regarding TE David Njoku but they’re more interested in acquiring wide receiver help.

Jaguars

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the conditions for the fifth-round pick the Vikings traded to the Jaguars for DE Yannick Ngakoue are still in place, meaning if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl and wins the Super Bowl with the Ravens, Minnesota still has to send Jacksonville a third-round pick instead of a fifth.

Ravens

  • According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, there are no guarantees Ravens WR Dez Bryant makes the jump from the practice squad to the active roster this season.
  • The earliest Bryant could be ready to play would be Thanksgiving in a few weeks once he works his way back into game shape, per a team source: “We’ll see where it goes. If he looks good, maybe he’ll eventually play. That’s really it.”
  • Bryant hasn’t played since 2017 but he looked much better in his most recent workout for the Ravens which prompted the team to give him a shot.
  • La Canfora adds the Ravens are still open to adding receiver or tight end help ahead of the trade deadline but have limited cap space in which to do so.
  • Ravens RB Mark Ingram could miss next week’s game against the Colts as well given his ankle injury is closer to a high-ankle sprain. (Ian Rapoport)
