Eagles Fire HC Andy Reid

The Philadelphia Eagles finally parted ways with head coach Andy Reid on Monday.

The last two seasons really did Reid in, as they went out and added plenty of talent to their roster in the hopes of making a playoff run, but they failed to make the playoffs both years.

“The search for the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles will begin immediately,” said owner Jeffrey Lurie in a statement.

Reid finishes as the Eagles’ winningest head coach with a record of 130-93-1. If Reid wants to continue coaching, he’ll almost certainly find work in the coming weeks, but it will be interesting to see what teams have interest in him. The San Diego Chargers had been rumored to be his preferred target, but multiple reports have indicated that the Chargers prefer to look at different candidates.

As for the Eagles, Jon Gruden, Chip Kelly and Bengals DC Mike Zimmer have all been linked to the job.
